Harvested on the Balmoral Estate, Scotland in 1983 and 1985. Each shield has profile edging and is made of wood. Two white plaques with black lettering are fitted on the display sides, showing provenance initials, harvest date, location and weight. The provenance is marked in pencil script on the rear side of both shields.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBoth sets were harvested on the Balmoral Estate by Sir Michael Oswald, GCVO (\u003cspan\u003e1934-2021).\u003c\/span\u003e He was Director of the Royal Studs to Queen Elizabeth II from 1970-2000, and racing manager to The Queen Mother from 1970 to 2002.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Balmoral estate was originally purchased for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852. With a size of more than 50,000 acres the estate supports a variety of wildlife. The Royal Family have always enjoyed rural traditions and frequently invited guests to join them on these outings.
