A Pair Of Wooden Decoy Ducks Carved & Hand Painted 1920's ANTIQUE
A highly decorative and charming set of decoy ducks. Two lovely pieces of folk art skilfully hand carved from solid pieces of wood. Both resemble realistic looking ducks, we particularly love the shaping of the heads and beaks. Matching paint colours and detailing show just a few small variations as expected when hand painted.
We believe that the wooden water birds were made during the first part of the 20th century. Decoy ducks have become collectable items in their own right and an identical pair will no doubt appeal to many of our customers.
The antique wooden decoy ducks are in a rustic but good condition. There is some erosion of feathering details, the wood is chipped in a few areas, and some of the paint has split where the neck joins the main body. In other words there are signs of wear and usage. But that is the decorative look that is so sought after nowadays. These beautiful antique ducks are so versatile as they can be displayed in any room of your house.
