London Transport Bus & Coach Stop Enamel Sign Double Sided 1980’s VINTAGE

Transport For London is well known for their amazing art and design work. Instantly recognisable, their signage has now reached the status of iconic design classics. This superb Bus Compulsory and Coach Request Stop sign is one of such examples. It is not just any old enamel sign;  it is double sided, hollow and made in a ‘boat hull’ style. Hence it is rather special. Please have a look at the photographs and you will see what we mean. The colours and lettering on this eye-catching enamel sign work so well together.

We were informed that this sign was produced in the 1980’s when London Transport took back control of the Coach stops in their area. Made in a small number with only featuring the roundel rather than the bullseye, it is a rare design. A small location plate is fitted to the bottom. With manufacturer's mark. A sign that is in almost perfect condition, with very few marks. 

We commissioned a clear acrylic base to display this enamel sign in the best possible way.
