A wonderful original engraving by R & D Havell from the hand coloured series Costume of Yorkshire. This is Plate IV titled the Dog Breaker, a professional dog handler with young dogs on the North Yorkshire Moors. that trained and prepared (= breaks) pointers, setters and hounds for field sports.
In forty illustrations artist George Walker documented the traditional dress and professions of rural Yorkshire in the early part of the 19th century. Published as a complete book in 1814.
This wonderful piece of wall art is in excellent condition. A professional presentation that was completed some years ago now, it has been carefully cleaned and refreshed in our framing workshop. Presented in a custom mount with hand applied wash line decorations and fitted in a high quality wooden frame. Ready to hang on your wall.
