Holland & Holland Leather Bound Double Shotgun Case ANTIQUE
A beautiful Edwardian double gun case with a fitted interior for two 30 inch barrels. Made for Holland & Holland, one of the world’s best rifle and shotgun manufacturers. Its sturdy wooden construction is covered by leather. The original interior of burgundy baize is still present complete with dividers and covers. The lid is fitted with its original brass spring catch, unfortunately we do not have the key. Fitted with a strong carrying handle and two leather straps. Holland & Holland’s paper trade label is fitted to the inside of the lid.
The gun case has been recently serviced by one of the very best leather restorers in this country. The interior and exterior of the case have been thoroughly cleaned. All leather surfaces have been fed to bring out the best look and will ensure that this gun case will give many more years of faithful service.
The leather carries the scratches and scars commensurate with its age. A former owner decorated the case with several stickers, which were largely removed by the time we received this piece. The outlines are still visible in the leather, which has created a look all of its own. The case came to us with replacement leather straps and a carrying handle that were fitted a number of years ago.
Even as just a display piece this gun case will bring a touch of class to any interior.
