Minichamps Bentley Speed Six 'Blue Train' 1:18 COLLECTABLE

Another passion of ours are miniature or scale models. They always work so well as objects of interest in interiors old and new. 

This is a particularly interesting diecast model of a famous and well known car, the Blue Train Bentley. Released around the 20 year anniversary of German model makers Minichamps in 2010. To celebrate the factory wanted to showcase their expertise and produced two of their arguably best ever diecast models. They chose two Bentley's from the 1930's era, the 4.5 Litre Blower - Le Mans and the Speed Six - Blue Train. Both models are highly sought after by collectors.

We currently have available a pristine example of the Speed Six with 'one off' body work by Gurney Nutting, a bespoke coach builder. Bentley chairman Woolf Barnato raced against the car against Le Train Bleu from Cannes to Calais. This famous luxury express rail service from Calais to the south of France operated between 1886 and 2003. Despite suffering various setbacks on the way such as a flat tyre and unable to find a scheduled fuel stop, Barnato won his bet by arriving ahead of the train by four minutes. But not in Calais, instead he had made it all the way to London! The French police give him a speeding ticket for his efforts.

This pre-owned scale model is in lovely condition. It has been fully checked and to our knowledge it is complete. High levels of intricate exterior and interior detailing, chromed headlights and radiator top, opening doors, foldable and removable bonnet lid, fine engine detail, correct spoke wheels and tyres.

Mounted in a Bentley presentation box that shows a number of scuff and wear marks. Would make a lovely display left mounted in the box. Cars always make a great subject for display in any interior. The styling of this particular 1930's model will work well with an Art Deco styled piece of furniture or room. A desirable scale model of one of the most famous Bentley cars ever.
