Poole Pottery Onion Vase Delphis Design Yellow/Orange/Red VINTAGE
The year 2023 marked the 150th anniversary of Poole Pottery. This British manufacturer, established in 1873, opened their first factory at the quayside in the Dorset town of Poole. The designs of their talented ceramicists and designers contributed greatly to the Art Nouveau and Art Deco period as well as the Modernist movement. The shapes, designs and colours used by the artists employed by the Poole Pottery were made to be recognised and are collected the world over.
This example of a Poole Pottery onion shaped vase is part of one of their best known ranges, launched in 1966. Named 'Delphis' it is hand painted with three large flower heads with five petals. The colours used by the artist consist of vibrant yellow, orange, red, green and black. This creates an amazing vintage look that is so very much at home in 1970's interiors. The inside surface of this beautiful vase is covered with an off-white colour. Made in a distinct onion shape the colours of the artwork are protected by a shiny glaze. Poole Pottery is ideal for adding a lovely splash of colour to all interiors.
This Poole Pottery Delphis onion vase is in first class condition, without chips, cracks and restoration. The bottom carries printed factory marks with dolphin, shape '32' digits, and the initials 'RH'.
